About Cedric O

Cedric O is a French entrepreneur and the former Secretary of State in charge of digital transition (2020-2022). He is the non-executive cofounder of Mistral AI, a startup focused on Generative AI. He also serves as a board member of Artefact, a consulting agency specialized in data and AI, and is a member of the National Experts Committee on AI in France.

Cedric graduated from HEC business school in Paris in 2006. He began his career working for Dominique Strauss-Kahn and then moved into consultancy. Cedric became an adviser to Pierre Moscovici, the French Minister of Economics and Finance, from 2012 to 2014. From 2014 to 2017, he joined Safran Group, initially as an assistant to the Group Industrial Director and later as a Production Manager.

As a founding member of the political movement “En Marche,” Cedric served as the treasurer for the Presidential campaign in 2017. From 2017 to 2019, he was an adviser to the French President and Prime Minister on national digital strategy. In March 2019, Cedric was appointed Secretary of State in charge of digital transition and communications. During his tenure, he oversaw innovation policies, the French Tech initiative, and international negotiations related to digital regulations, including the Digital Markets Act and Digital Services Act. He also led the deployment of the digital network in France and the 5G rollout, as well as digital tools during the Covid-19 pandemic, such as the TousAntiCovid app.

In April 2018, Cedric co-founded Mistral AI and continues to serve as an adviser. He is also a member of the European Space Agency’s high-level advisory council on space exploration.
