About Huib van Bockel

Huib van Bockel is the founder of TENZING, a 100% natural energizing drink, and a former Head of Marketing at Red Bull in Europe. From 2006 to 2014, van Bockel played a crucial role at Red Bull, transitioning the company from an energy drink business to a media powerhouse. He led major projects such as Revolutions in Sound, Air Race Ascot, and Danny Macaskill’s Imaginate. In the UK, he helped pioneer the establishment of Red Bull Media House, launching a magazine and TV channel, and significantly expanding the brand’s digital and social presence.

Van Bockel began his career as a management trainee at Unilever, where he gained six years of hands-on expertise and training. He then moved to MTV Networks, where he acquired invaluable experience in both traditional and new (social) media, and was responsible for one of the world’s first social networks. He is recognized as a thought leader in marketing, advocating that brands should act more like publishers than traditional marketers. His book, The Social Brand, published in 2014, serves as a blueprint for succeeding in the social era.
