About Raphael Enthoven

Raphaël Enthoven, born in 1975, is an eminent French philosopher and educator. An alumnus of the Ecole Normale Superieure, he began his teaching career at the University of Lyon III and the University of Paris VII Jussieu. In 2002 and 2003, he taught at People’s University of Caen, founded by Michel Onfray. Enthoven later joined France Culture TV and co-produced the show ‘Friday Philosophy’ from 2003 to 2006.

His teaching journey continued at Sciences Po and the Ecole Polytechnique, where he shared his profound insights from 2000-07. From 2004 to 2009, he hosted a series of discussions at the National Library of France on the “meaning of life”. Enthoven also produced the show ‘Political Meeting Place’ on France Culture and became a columnist for the Express in 2009.

From 2007 to 2011, Enthoven produced and hosted ‘New Paths of Knowledge’, a daily program on France Culture. Since 2008, he has been hosting “Philosophy” on Arte and ‘The Joy of Knowledge’ on France Culture. As a Contributing Editor of Philosophy Magazine, he penned the ‘Meaning of Life’ column from 2006 to 2010. Since 2013, he has been teaching philosophy at the bilingual school Jeannine Manuel, affiliated with UNESCO.

Enthoven stands out as a significant contemporary French philosopher, known for his critical worldview and dedication to making philosophy accessible. He has authored numerous books and produced audio CDs featuring interviews on the philosophies of Plato, Sartre, Montaigne, Spinoza, Kant, Descartes, and Diderot.
