About Michelle King

Dr. Michelle Penelope King is a globally recognized expert on inequality and organizational culture. With over a decade’s worth of research, Michelle emphasizes the need to understand how workplaces function in order to make them work for everyone. She hosts a popular podcast called The Fix. Michelle is the author of the bestselling, award-winning book The Fix: Overcome the Invisible Barriers that are Holding Women Back at Work. Her second book, How Work Works, will be published internationally on September 19, 2023, with Harper Collins.

 

Michelle is a published, award-winning academic with five degrees, including a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Organizational Psychology, a Master of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology, a Master of Business Administration, a Post Graduate Degree in Journalism, and a PhD in Management. She is pursuing a post-doctoral research fellowship with Cranfield University in the United Kingdom.

Previously, she was the Director of Inclusion at Netflix and headed UN Women’s Global Innovation Coalition for Change, managing over 30 private sector partnerships to accelerate gender equality and women’s empowerment.

 

With two decades of international experience in the private sector, Michelle has consistently advanced gender equality and enhanced global opportunities for women. In 2022, she was named LinkedIn’s Top Voice for workplace equity and was recognized among the Top 100 Women at Davos by Global Women’s Leadership Experts. In 2019, Women Tech Founders awarded her the Inspiring Innovator Award for her outstanding achievements in the tech industry.
