About Dominique Moisi

Dominique Moïsi is one of Europe’s leading geo-strategic thinkers, a renowned political scientist, author, and co-founder of the prestigious French Institute for International Affairs (IFRI). After leaving IFRI in September 2016, he became Senior Counsellor at The Institut Montaigne in Paris. He is a member of the European Council on Foreign Relations, the International Advisory Council of the Moscow School of Political Studies, and a special member of the Bilderberg Group.

Currently, Moïsi is a Professor at the Institute d’Etudes Politiques at Sciences Po in Paris, and the Pierre Keller Visiting Professor at Harvard University. He also holds the European Geopolitics Chair at the College of Europe in Natolin, Warsaw, and serves as a visiting professor at King’s College, London.

In the 1990s, Moïsi was renowned for writing several “trilateral” (British-German-French) papers with Timothy Garton Ash and Michael Mertes, advocating for a combined eastward enlargement and institutional modernization of the EU. As an internationally respected specialist in geopolitics and international relations, he is frequently called upon to comment on the future of Europe, geopolitical trends, and the geopolitics of emotions.

Moïsi writes for major newspapers such as the Financial Times, New York Times, Die Welt, Der Standard, Foreign Affairs, and more. He is the author of numerous books, including the renowned The Geopolitics of Emotion: How Cultures of Fear, Humiliation, and Hope are reshaping the World (2009), which has been translated into 20 languages.
